POSITION: Machine Operator

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-time, Temporary Assignment

PAY RATE: $17/HR

ROLE SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of supervisory personnel, the Machine Operator plays a crucial role in a production team focused on operating machinery essential for processing components of medical devices. This role involves assembling components, inspecting in-process items, and ensuring the quality and integrity of products throughout the manufacturing process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Execute machine operations, assemblies, and inspections of components in accordance with established protocols.
  2. Engage in full-scale production activities.
  3. Adhere strictly to operational procedures, assembly methods, product handling protocols, documentation completion, and safety regulations consistently.
  4. Uphold product quality, integrity, and traceability at all times.
  5. Comprehend the entire operational process to consistently meet or exceed production benchmarks.
  6. Conduct SAP/computer production transactions as necessary.
  7. Maintain an organized and clean workspace.
  8. Utilize designated tools, measuring instruments, and materials as per procedures.
  9. Perform machine setups and mechanical maintenance as required.
  10. Collaborate with engineers on validation runs, cost control measures, process enhancements, and data collection initiatives aimed at improving operational efficiency and minimizing waste.
  11. Deliver training on processes and procedures as a Subject Matter Expert, exceeding expectations in assessments.
  12. Integrate quality assurance into all aspects of work by complying with all quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:
AA Degree or equivalent experience in a related field, with a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Grinding Machine Operator or Molding Machine Operator, or a similar combination of education and experience. Proven ability to consistently surpass the expectations of a Machine Operator II, particularly in compliance aspects. Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification is required. Strong mechanical aptitude, proactive troubleshooting skills, and machine maintenance capabilities are essential. Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and using precision measuring tools is also required. Familiarity with manufacturing practices, cGMP, ISO 13485, and teamwork principles is preferred. A collaborative spirit and commitment to teamwork among colleagues are essential.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Email. Experience with SAP inventory systems is advantageous. Flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and overtime, is necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasionally to high noise levels. The role may require lifting up to 35 pounds and involves manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for mechanical adjustments. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses and respirators may be required.
