Job Summary

Flatiron Construction is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Automation Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll, auditing time records, and ensuring data integrity with all new hire and change form entries.

About the Role

As a Payroll Automation Specialist, you will be working closely with the HR Data Entry team to audit all system entries for new hires, status, and compensation changes, and terminations. You will also be responsible for responding to and resolving payroll inquiries in a timely and compliant manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll within Company-assigned frequencies, including compiling payroll data such as hours worked, taxes, insurance, and withholding union dues, and preparing and issuing paychecks.
  • Process timely and accurate wage assignments, garnishments, child support orders, and employment verifications.
  • Audit all system entries for new hires, status, and compensation changes, and terminations with the support of the HR Data Entry team.
  • Respond to and resolve payroll inquiries in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Analyze payroll reports such as Certified Payroll, Job Cost Association, Gross Payroll Registers, Vacation Reports to ensure accurate and timely tracking and accruals.
  • Perform additional assignments as directed by management.
  • Support the reconciliation of outstanding payroll checks with the corporate Accounting team.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years experience with in-house payroll processing.
