We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Retail Department Supervisor to join our team at TJ Maxx. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for executing receiving and merchandising standards, ensuring Associates are processing efficiently and effectively, and working as a team to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities- Lead by example, demonstrating exceptional customer service and promoting a positive internal and external customer experience
- Promote a culture of honesty and integrity, maintaining confidentiality and upholding the highest standards of professionalism
- Orchestrate truck delivery, prioritizing the processing of merchandise onto the sales floor and ensuring efficient flow of goods to sales floor
- Train and mentor Associates on established merchandising and processing principles, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to succeed in their roles
- Ensure merchandise is properly tagged, hung, secured, and coded, maintaining the highest standards of visual merchandising and store appearance
- Communicate effectively with the Coordinator on Duty to ensure seamless execution of store operations and efficient flow of goods to sales floor
- Monitor productivity of team and coach as necessary, ensuring Associates are meeting performance expectations and providing feedback to support growth and development
- Organize and rotate back stock for easy replenishment, maintaining the highest standards of inventory management and store appearance
- Maintain and uphold merchandising philosophy and signage standards, ensuring a consistent and compelling customer experience
- Maintain all organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the backroom area, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment
- Ensure compliance with recycling and hazardous waste programs, upholding the highest standards of environmental responsibility and sustainability
- Communicate accurately and effectively with management and Associates when setting and addressing priorities, providing progress updates and feedback to support growth and development
- Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback, promoting a culture of open communication and continuous improvement
- Partner with Management on Associate training needs to increase effectiveness and support growth and development
- Ensure adherence to all labor laws, policies, and procedures, upholding the highest standards of compliance and regulatory excellence
- Promote credit and loyalty programs, driving sales and revenue growth through effective marketing and customer engagement
- Support and participate in store shrink reduction goals and programs, upholding the highest standards of loss prevention and inventory management
- Promote safety awareness and maintain a safe environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all Associates and customers
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and supporting store operations
- Superior communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Capable of lifting heavy objects with or without reasonable accommodation, with a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment
- Able to train others, with a strong commitment to developing and supporting the skills and knowledge of Associates
- 1 year retail experience and 6 months of leadership experience, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional results and supporting store operations
