Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Employee Health Nurse to join our team at Central Carolina Hospital. This part-time position will provide support to human resources with conducting new hire screenings, managing worker's compensation, and assessing return to work for both worker's comp and medical leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an Employee Health Program, assessing goals annually and evaluating departmental needs.
- Collaborate with other members of leadership and administration regarding occupational health and safety matters.
- Perform post-offer assessments, review ADA, and ensure immunization requirements are met.
- Manage Workers' Compensation injuries, claims, follow-up, and return to work by maintaining contact with Employee, Work Comp provider, and insurance carrier.
- Manage medical return to work in coordination with HR and Departmental Directors.
- Analyze data from injuries and near-misses, determine areas of safety concerns, and develop a plan for prevention of injury. Review Loss-Run Report monthly.
- Manage and administer Blood Borne Pathogen Exposure program and the Respiratory Protection Program for Preventing Transmission of Airborne Diseases in accordance with OSHA requirements.
- Maintain OSHA recordkeeping for 300, 300A, 301, and Sharps Injury Log. Post 300A in all locations from February to April annually. Submit OSHA report as requested by Department of Labor.
- Review all Employee Health policies and make changes to reflect current OSHA requirements and CDC recommendations.
- Manage data bases and filing systems in all employee health areas.
- Member of Environment of Care, Infection Control, and Patient Safety committees with quarterly reporting expectations.
- Follow recommendations by Infection Prevention Committee to lead annual flu vaccination program.
- Collaborate with Infection Prevention if an occupational exposure to communicable disease occurs.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in nursing is required.
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Registered Nurse in North Carolina is required (or compact state).
- American Heart Association BLS is required.
