Job Summary
The Medical Assistant Specialist will be part of the Clinical Care Team engaging with our patients to develop lifelong well-being and health. This role makes a difference in the patient care we offer and assists physicians and other clinicians by providing a unique blend of skills and knowledge to carry out prescribed medical treatment.

Responsibilities
- Perform pre-visit planning based on patient visit type
- Manage the providers schedule to ensure efficient workflow
- Obtain and record medical history and vital signs
- Room patients and assist healthcare providers with medical procedures and treatments
- Perform specimen collection and point of care testing
- Prepare and administer medications under direction of healthcare providers
- Ensure accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR) and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including documentation of HEDIS and Stars quality measures
- Maintain established quality control standards

Requirements
- Medical Assistant diploma or certificate of completion from a Medical Assisting program
- Current CPR certification
- 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience in 'back-office' direct patient care
- Preferred qualifications: Bilingual in English and Spanish proficiency, Certified Medical Assistant/CMA or Registered Medical Assistant/RMA certification, Experience with HEDIS and ICD/CPT coding, Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience, Experience with Electronic Medical Records, Experience in a fast-paced/high volume environment

Payscale Information
The estimated salary range for this position is $34,500 - $47,400 per year.
