Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse

Travel Nurse Source is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Operating Room Registered Nurse in Springfield, Missouri.

About the Position

The Operating Room Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect care to patients in the operating room. This includes ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to customers within the perioperative and outpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follows and completes assignments as given by the charge nurse.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis.
  • Gathers supplies and equipment for surgical cases.
  • Individualizes patient care according to patients' health status, age level, and surgery/procedure being performed.
  • Prepares surgery suite for surgical procedures.
  • Scrubs and circulates for surgical procedures for various surgeons that operate.
  • Restocks supplies in the surgery suite when procedures have ended for the day.
  • Monitors surgery inventory and notifies appropriate individuals when supplies are needed.
  • Operates equipment and performs technical skills according to policies and standards.
  • Assesses patients' needs, including physical, psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, educational, sexual, and age-related needs.
  • Implements good judgment and critical thinking appropriate to the situation.
  • Documents are complete, clear, concise, and according to policy and procedures.
  • Maintains the Surgery Department and Operating Rooms in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • RN state license unencumbered and active.
  • Minimum one year recent OR experience in a hospital.
  • Active AHA BLS required, ACLS preferred.
