Overview

The Culinary Supervisor is tasked with overseeing daily kitchen operations while providing leadership and guidance to the team. This role ensures that all culinary creations, food preparations, and presentations align with the company’s standards and dedication to excellence. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe, organized, and sanitized kitchen environment, exemplifying proper food-handling practices. Daily operations include cooking, inventory management, food procurement, staff scheduling, and fostering client relationships.

Shift:
MONDAY - FRIDAY 4:30AM - 12:30PM
Some evenings and weekends may be required

Key Responsibilities

  • Develops and manages the daily production schedule.
  • Ensures all kitchen stations are adequately stocked prior to and during service.
  • Handles end-of-day financial transactions and drawer reconciliations.
  • Monitors kitchen staff adherence to recipes and portion control.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in kitchen, dish, and storage areas.
  • Places orders for food and supplies as necessary.
  • Receives and inspects products for quality and accuracy against invoices.
  • Trains team members to meet company standards.
  • Sets a benchmark for exceptional customer service and work ethic.
  • Actively engages as a member of the management team.
  • Oversees staffing levels throughout the shift.
  • Manages kitchen labor and food costs in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management or clients.


Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Formal culinary education or extensive experience in food production.
  • A minimum of 2+ years in a leadership position within the food service sector.
  • Strong commitment to quality service and knowledge of food and beverage.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal health and sanitation regulations.
  • Serv-Safe Certification is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of the proper use and maintenance of essential kitchen equipment, including stoves, refrigeration units, slicers, knives, and dishwashing machines.
  • Previous experience with online food ordering, weekly inventory management, profit and loss analysis, union contracts, and client relations is advantageous.
