Nurse Educator Opportunity at Mass General Brigham

We are seeking a skilled Nurse Educator to join our team at Mass General Brigham. As a Nurse Educator, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing educational programs for our nursing staff, with a focus on competency-based education, quality improvement, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct needs assessments to identify educational and resource-related needs for nursing staff
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs that focus on evidence-based nursing practice and quality patient care
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Director to implement unit-based orientation, educational programming, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Train staff on unit-specific equipment, computer software applications, and other technology
  • Participate in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational and clinical technologies
  • Evaluate and participate in purchasing teaching materials and new technologies that optimize learning and clinical practice
  • Develop and implement continuing education programs for registered nurses using the American Nurses Credentialing Center criteria
  • Serve as an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Instructor and provide training for all staff
  • Collaborate with the Nurse Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating unit-specific education programs and staff competencies
  • Promote an environment that fosters creative thinking, new ideas, professional growth, adult learning, open communication, and collaborative relationships
  • Provide coaching and feedback to staff as needed
  • Use QI data to determine staff competency needs and improve patient outcomes

Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, Bachelor's degree in Nursing, and Master's degree in Nursing required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years current clinical experience in medical/surgical specialty required
  • Cardiac/Telemetry experience required
  • Prior critical care experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem-solving, and conflict management skills required
  • Demonstrated ability to use evidence to develop, teach, guide, and implement practice standards and policies required
  • Prior educational/teaching experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications and other computer skills required
  • CPR training required, ACLS/BLS required
