Nurse Educator

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Nurse Educator to join our team in Needham, Massachusetts.
Job Summary:The Nurse Educator will participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive program for competency-based staff education, including department orientation, mandatory education programs, continuing education, and quality/performance improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct needs assessments and develop educational programs to enhance nursing practice and quality patient care.
- Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs for ancillary staff, including unit-specific orientation and continuing education.
- Train staff on unit-specific equipment, computer software applications, and other technology.
- Maintain competence as an expert user of department-specific equipment, computer software applications, and other technology.
- Participate in the development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational and clinical technologies.
- Evaluate and participate in purchasing teaching materials/new technologies that optimize learning and clinical practice.
- Ensure timely completion of all mandatory training for staff.
- Develop and implement continuing education programs for registered nurses using the American Nurses Credentialing Center criteria.
- Serve as an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR Instructor and provide training for all staff.
- Collaborate with the Nurse Manager/Director in planning, implementing, and evaluating unit-specific education programs and staff competencies.
- Maintain clinical involvement in assigned clinical area.
- Promote an environment that fosters creative thinking, new ideas, professional growth, adult learning, open communication, and collaborative relationships.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to facilitate learning.
- Provide direct clinical supervision as needed to validate staff competency.
- Provide coaching and feedback to staff as needed.
- Participate in unit-based QI/safety initiatives as determined by the Nurse Manager/Director.
- Use QI data to determine staff competency needs and improve patient outcomes.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
- 3-5 years current clinical experience in nursing specialty.
- Current MA License.
- CPR Training required; CPR Instructor eligible.
- Certification in specialty preferred.
