Job Summary:

The Pediatrics and Postpartum Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect total nursing care to patients across all levels of care. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs.
  • Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans to meet those needs.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Supervise and educate nursing staff, including new graduates and experienced nurses, to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required.
  • One year of nursing/patient care experience required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions required or, Compact State Licensure in Nursing required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Registered Nurses on designated units are required to maintain certain certifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACLS certification.
  • PACUPALS certification.
  • De-escalation training.
