Electrical Design Supervisor

Pieper Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our Engineering Services department, you will be responsible for managing and contributing to staff, workflows, design, details, implementation, and organization of databases and collaboration across the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners to integrate electrical systems into building designs.
  • Design electrical systems, including distribution, lighting, branch power, and motor controls, for commercial, industrial, food service, residential, institutional, and warehousing projects.
  • Calculate loads, select and specify equipment, and determine equipment locations and pathways for optimal ROI and competitive advantage while complying with regulations.
  • Provide design support for pre-bid and post-bid activities, including design assist, design build, partial project calculations, and assistance with adjustments to plan specifications.
  • Manage multiple project designs, project schedules, and meetings to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of design meetings, changes, and direction, as well as incoming documentation to support electrical design.
  • Template and organize electrical specifications and folder structures for team usage and engineering resources.
  • Manage projects and time entry in Pieper Electric's ERP accounting software.
  • Forecast workloads, backlog, and progress for resource allocation and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Construction Services Manager to implement best practices and workflows across departments, projects, and teams.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Wisconsin Design or PE certification, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering and/or electrical construction design.
  • 10+ years of experience utilizing electrical and construction-based design software, including Bluebeam, Excel, Revit, AutoCAD, and others.
