Job Summary

The Security Officer (Armed) is a key member of the Roper St. Francis Healthcare team, responsible for providing protective services to all facilities, patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner.

Responsibilities
  • Provide protective services to all Roper St. Francis Healthcare facilities, patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Deter crime and control all access points.
  • Operate and manage an electronic visitor management system.
  • Enforce all access guidelines.
  • Augment and assist other RSFH Security Officers as needed.
  • Respond to all critical incidents and provide assistance as needed.
  • Protect personnel and property within reason and secure the incident scene until properly relieved.
  • Conduct initial investigation of incidents and complete all appropriate reports and forms.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Prior work experience in safety or security, security in a healthcare facility, law enforcement, or the military preferred.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain SLED license requirements (armed - TASER) within six months in position.
  • Ability to obtain Taser Training certification within 60 days in position.
Working Conditions

The Security Officer (Armed) will work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
