Motorcycle Safety Instructor

Job Summary:
The Durham Technical Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach Motorcycle Safety Rider courses. As an Adjunct Instructor, you will provide instruction in the Motorcycle courses for Basic Rider Motorcycle as mandated by the NC Motorcycle Safety Education Program.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver classroom and range instruction of MSF curriculum.
- Prepare the range and the motorcycles for the day's students.
- Coach students and provide feedback.
- Prepare reports at the end of the two-day class.
- Develop and maintain strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral communication/public relations skills.
- Complete mandatory training.
Requirements:
- Must hold a current MSF certification at the BRC/BRC2 level.
- Be on the NC Motorcycle Safety Education Program approved instructor list.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to move between classrooms, buildings, and campuses.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas.
- Ability to lift, at times, 10 lbs.
- Good eye/hand dexterity.
Working Hours:
Specific work hours are to be determined by the scheduled class hours and by consultation with the supervisor. Hours are not guaranteed but are based on student enrollment and faculty needs.
