Job Summary

Florida International University is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to ensure the upkeep and maintenance of our campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled maintenance tasks, including repair work, pressure cleaning, and painting to maintain the condition of campus facilities.
  • Install and maintain various equipment and systems, including bumper blocks, county curbs, pavement markings, traffic signs, and informational signs.
  • Inspect and repair surface lots, roadways, and other areas to ensure they are in good condition.
  • Operate specialized equipment, such as backhoes and forklifts, to assist with projects and events.
  • Assist with event operations, including setup and breakdown of equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance of campus facilities.
Requirements
  • Completion of an approved apprenticeship program for mechanical trades or a high school diploma and three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License, Class E.
Working Conditions
  • Working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a variety of weather conditions.
