Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Benchmark Senior Living. As a Housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our community, ensuring a comfortable and healthy environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Laundry and Cleaning: Wash, dry, and fold laundry, including resident personal laundry, using cleaning products appropriate to the type of wash.
  • Housekeeping: Clean resident apartments, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas, including elevators, halls, landings, stairs, and resident activity areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and operate housekeeping and laundry carts, as well as equipment such as washers, dryers, and vacuum cleaners.
  • Chemical Handling: Follow standards and practices for the use of specific chemicals and store them in accordance with product or supervisor instruction.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with supervisor and represent the community with a positive attitude and pride when interacting with potential residents and families.
Requirements
  • Physical Stamina: Demonstrate appropriate physical stamina to assist or lift residents when needed and in emergencies.
  • Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with equipment such as washer/dryer, wet/dry vacuum, housekeeping and laundry carts, and chemical cleaning supplies.
  • Chemical Safety: Understand the practices surrounding proper handling of bio hazardous waste and follow emergency procedures if chemicals are misused.
