We are hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the team delivering essential Ubuntu components - system startup, compilers, runtimes, toolchains, networking, and storage config management.

This role operates at the core of Linux server systems, requiring a deep understanding of Linux and Ubuntu, exceptional leadership skills, and passion for driving technical delivery.

In this position, you will:

  • Lead and grow a distributed team of engineers
  • Demonstrate sound engineering principles through active leadership
  • Be responsible for planning, estimation, and execution
  • Work with product management to define the vision and strategy for Ubuntu
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership teams
  • Drive the adoption of latest software development practices
  • Design and evangelize great engineering practices
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with company values
