About the Role

The Linux Foundation is driving innovation in open-source technology and seeking a skilled Technical Community Architect to lead our Hiero project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pipeline Development: Collaborate with maintainers to design, build, and maintain core CI/CD tooling used by the Hiero community, aligning with the project's roadmap.
  • Liaison and Communication: Serve as a key liaison between the Hiero Technical Steering Committee and Linux Foundation Decentralized Trust, promoting open-source best practices, deployment strategies, and community growth.
  • Technical Expertise: Be a source of technical knowledge for community contributors, supporting test networks, pipelines, and release management. Develop educational content for developers and non-developers, guiding documentation architecture.
  • Documentation and Tooling: Work with maintainers to adopt documentation best practices, organizing activities to foster a robust community around Hiero documentation contributions.
  • Community Governance: Ensure the Hiero project's governance, policies, procedures, and software development processes are running smoothly, promoting collaboration and transparency between maintainers and the project ecosystem.
  • Community Engagement: Immerse yourself in the Hiero and broader open-source technical communities, facilitating smooth onboarding for developers, streamlining contributions, and supporting technical working groups.
Requirements
  • Critical Skills: Experience designing, integrating, and maintaining pipelines for CI/CD, proficiency in building modular, scalable, and extensible software solutions, and familiarity with distributed trust technology and its technical/business landscape.
  • Open-Source Expertise: 5+ years of experience in open-source software development, substantial history of technical contributions to open-source projects, and expertise with Markdown and documenting software specifications or standards.
  • Community Management: Strong understanding of open-source community governance and best practices, ability to influence internal teams and external stakeholders, and strong verbal and written communication skills.
