Independent Living Supervisor

DePaul Community Resources is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Independent Living Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Independent Living program in Charlottesville, VA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising a team of IL Specialists, Youth Counselors, and Youth Advocates, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and mentor IL staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful implementation of program goals and objectives.
- Oversee the daily program operations, including staff supervision, client intake, and program planning.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, staff, and community partners.
- Ensure compliance with program policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
- Manage the IL budget, ensuring effective use of resources and meeting reporting and deadline requirements.
- Coordinate apartment selection and furnishings, as well as repairs and maintenance, to ensure client apartments are move-in ready.
- Provide on-site assistance as requested by HR, Finance, and Information Systems departments.
- Participate in regular supervision with the IL Manager and perform other duties as assigned.
A Bachelor's degree in a human services field is required, with five years of experience providing casework services to children and families. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are also required.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent interruptions and varying noise levels. The incumbent will be required to work in an office environment and occasionally in the field. Participation in an on-call rotation and completion of job duties outside of normally scheduled hours is required.
Physical RequirementsThe physical demands of this position include finger dexterity, effective communication, and seeing or hearing verbal cues. The incumbent will be required to walk, sit, bend, and lift up to 20 pounds, with minimal unassisted lifting. Climbing stairs and ramps, as well as driving to various locations, is also required.
