Position Overview

Advocate Aurora Health is in search of a Radiologic Technologist to join our clinical team.

Key Responsibilities

This role involves performing a range of radiologic procedures under the supervision of physicians. The successful candidate will:

  • Conduct various radiologic examinations, including general diagnostic and fluoroscopy procedures.
  • Engage with patients to clarify procedures, gather clinical histories, and ensure understanding.
  • Position patients accurately and select appropriate exposure factors while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Verify patient identities and ensure the accuracy of imaging requisitions, maintaining high-quality standards in radiographs.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers, demonstrating independence in the role.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory standards and manage patient information within the radiology information system.
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for colleagues and students, contributing to accreditation initiatives.
  • Perform patient positioning and transport duties, applying proper techniques to ensure safety.
Qualifications

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Radiographer license from the state of Wisconsin
  • Registered Technologist (RT) certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) to be obtained within 6 months if required

Education:

Completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology beyond high school.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience is necessary. Candidates should possess:

  • Competence in radiologic positioning and techniques.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety, anatomy, and radiology equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to work autonomously and intermediate computer skills.
