Diesel Technician Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lot Attendant/Shop Technician Helper to join our team at Inland Kenworth. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work environment, ensuring the efficient operation of our service bays, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general shop clean up, including sweeping and cleaning the service lot.
- Clean tools and equipment, and power wash/steam clean all brands and makes of trucks and equipment.
- Move vehicles and equipment in a safe and conscientious manner, asking for help or direction if unsure of vehicle operation.
- Ensure the wash bay is kept clean at all times, and perform routine building maintenance to minimize interruption of customers or employees.
- Clean driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary, and empty and clean all trash receptacles, inside and outside.
- Remove all debris/garbage from the lot and clean up all scrap, and sweep the lot where needed.
- Become familiar with and comply with the company's Health & Safety Manual, and perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Ambition to become a Service Technician.
- Ability to become WHMIS certified (Canada only) or OSHA HCS trained (US only), if necessary.
- Team player with a positive attitude, and ability to speak, read and write English.
- Ability to proactively problem-solve and think logically, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to self-manage time and priorities, and strong organizational skills.
- Quality orientation, accountability, and dependability.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 kgs or 50 pounds, and walk around the exterior yard area (long periods standing/walking/bending).
- Must have the mobility to easily access and egress trucks and equipment, and be willing and able to work various shifts, possibly including weekends.
- Competitive pay rate of $20.62-$22.91 per hour.
