Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Seguin Independent School District is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Speech Language Pathologist will provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders. The successful candidate will assess students, provide therapeutic intervention, and develop strategies to eliminate or reduce problems that interfere with their ability to benefit from the educational program.

Responsibilities:
  • Assess students and provide speech-language pathology services to students with speech, voice, or language disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address students' communication needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure students receive comprehensive support.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Provide training and support to school staff on communication strategies and techniques.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in speech-language pathology from an accredited college or university.
  • Valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist granted by the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology (SBESLPA).
  • OR Bachelor's degree and valid Texas Education Agency speech therapy certificate.
  • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to use accepted tests and measurements to assess communication disorders and conditions.
Working Conditions:

The Speech Language Pathologist will work in a fast-paced educational environment, interacting with students, teachers, and parents. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.

Remote Learning:

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for monitoring virtual classroom environments, ensuring learning and appropriate physical, social, and emotional development of students. The successful candidate will be available by phone, email, or video conferencing during indicated work hours to confer with district personnel, students, and/or parents.

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
