About the Role

In this critical position, you will serve as a dedicated advocate for oncology patients, ensuring they receive the highest level of care and support. As a Patient Navigator, you will be the primary point of contact for patients and their caregivers, providing guidance and assistance throughout their treatment journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient health insurance medical benefits and document specifics, including coverage, cost share, and treatment access options.
  • Partner closely with case managers to confirm appointment dates and communicate patient needs.
  • Act as a liaison for patients and caregivers to ensure accurate scheduling and preparation.
  • Enter and maintain patient data in CRM.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to engage with patients, initiating proactive communication to guarantee exceptional customer service and facilitate a smooth patient treatment experience.
  • Document and communicate all patient travel needs, including scheduling, rescheduling, and arrival/departure details.
  • Administer and handle applications for Travel and Lodging and Patient Assistance Programs.
  • Manage the reimbursement process for receipts.
  • Provide coverage during after-hours to address urgent patient needs.
  • Maintain interpersonal skills to facilitate communication with team lead and case managers while time managing case-specific activities.
Requirements
  • Previous work experience in Oncology background.
  • High School diploma.
  • Ability to work with high attention to detail.
  • In-depth understanding and experience with Medical Benefits.
  • 2 to 5 years of patient coordinating/scheduling experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience interacting with healthcare providers regarding Patient Health Information.
  • Prominent level of empathy and sensitivity when speaking with oncology patients.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and great team player.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and grammar.
Preferred Requirements
  • Hospital and specialty oncology medication experience highly desired.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Salesforce system experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of care coordination for cancer patients.
  • Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement, hospice-related community resources preferred.
