We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver (Direct Support) to join our team at VOA-Texas in Plano, TX.

About the Role

As a Caregiver (Direct Support), you will provide direct supervision and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing assistance with daily living activities, such as grooming, eating, bathing, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean living environment, including the facility and equipment.
  • Providing reinforcement of counseling and therapy activities, correcting unacceptable behavior, and helping individuals meet program rules.
  • Assisting with medications and performing tasks as delegated by an RN.
  • Maintaining clinical records and documentation as required by organization policies and procedures.
  • Preparing meals and assisting with meal planning and preparation as needed.
  • Assisting with transportation and providing housekeeping or assistance with housekeeping as needed.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferably six months of experience or training with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • A valid Texas Driver License.
