Therapeutic Recreation Specialist

This position supports clients involved in MORA Adult Day Services. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily well-being, safety, and needs of the clients they support. This role is located in Chanhassen.
About the Role:
The Therapeutic Recreation-ADS will facilitate group and individual activity involvement for clients enrolled in the program. They will also facilitate community outings and assist clients with activities of daily living, personal care, and behavior support needs. The ideal candidate will ensure adequate supervision of clients and contribute to the interdisciplinary team process by assisting with developing and implementing care plans and risk management plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate group and individual activity involvement for clients
- Facilitate community outings for clients
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, personal care, and behavior support needs
- Ensure adequate supervision of clients
- Contribute to the interdisciplinary team process by assisting with care plans and risk management plans
Requirements:
- 3 years or more of experience working with people with Developmental Disabilities
- Current, valid Minnesota driver's license
- Willingness to submit to an annual check of driving record
- Acceptable driving record per company policy
- Pass Department of Human Services background check and maintain 'qualified' status
- Hold or be able to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate (MN Department of Transportation physical) upon employment
- Hold or be able to obtain CPR certification upon employment
- Pass Medication Administration Certification
