Part-Time Parenting Instructor

Foothill De Anza Community College District is seeking a Part-Time Parenting Instructor to join our team. As a Parenting Instructor, you will teach Noncredit Parenting courses that promote family engagement, school and workforce readiness, and pathways to post-secondary education for families with children birth through adolescents.
Responsibilities- Teach Parenting classes that focus on family support and involvement, promoting healthy family relationships and school readiness.
- Develop and implement curriculum that addresses the needs of diverse families, including those with children of different ages and abilities.
- Provide opportunities for parents to engage in education and training, building their confidence and leadership skills.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a comprehensive approach to family engagement and support.
- Bachelor's degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Human Development, Family and Consumer Studies, or a related field.
- Two years of professional experience in early childhood programs or parenting education.
- Understanding of and sensitivity to the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.
This position requires working in an indoor office environment with regular standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods. The successful candidate will also be required to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.
