Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for our industrial projects. The successful candidate will provide leadership, mentoring, and training to less experienced staff, while working closely with customers and potential clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems, including conceptual and detailed construction documents
  • Develop system layouts, size pipes, select fixtures and equipment, and ensure compliance with safety and efficiency standards
  • Design and detail sprinkler systems, including hydraulic calculations
  • Design fire protection systems, including fire suppression, detection, and alarm systems, as well as smoke control systems
  • Ensure compliance with fire protection codes, NFPA standards, FM datasheets, and system integration for fire sprinkler systems
  • Utilize computer-aided design software, particularly AutoCAD, to create detailed drawings and models of plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to plumbing and fire protection systems
Ideal Candidate:
  • 5+ years of experience in the design, analysis, and implementation of commercial and industrial plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Proficiency in relevant codes and standards
  • Strong understanding of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and waste systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present technical information clearly and concisely
  • Familiarity with relevant industry regulations, building codes, and standards related to plumbing and fire protection
  • Ability to manage projects, including coordinating timelines, budgets, and resources
