We are seeking a highly qualified Physician Scientist to join our team in the Division of General Pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. As a member of our faculty, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our mission of advancing child health and healthcare through innovative research, education, and clinical practice.
About the PositionThis is a full-time position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. The successful candidate will have a strong background in research and scholarship, with a track record of impactful research and strong extramural funding. A strong focus on areas critical to child health, such as healthcare transformation, integrating care, or addressing social and structural determinants of child health, is preferred.
Responsibilities- Conduct research and engage in the teaching and clinical missions of the division
- Develop and implement innovative research projects that address critical issues in child health
- Collaborate with faculty members and researchers to advance our understanding of child health and healthcare
- Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows in the UCLA National Clinician Scholars Program, NRSA Health Services Research Fellowship, and the HRSA-funded Life Course Translational Research Network
- MD or equivalent
- Strong background in research and scholarship
- Board certified or board eligible in pediatrics
- Licensed or eligible to be licensed to practice medicine in California
- A track record of impactful research and strong extramural funding (for Associate Professor applicants) or high potential for achieving extramural funding (for Assistant Professor applicants)
As a member of our faculty, you will have access to a rich group of clinicians, educators, and researchers, as well as a thriving continuity clinic, a well-established complex care program, and a robust health services research group. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with institution-wide programs and resources, including the Center for Healthier Children Families and Communities, the CTSI, Department of Medicine Biostatistics Core, and UCLA bioinformatics program.
