Currently, there is an opening for a Quality Engineer Associate to join our diverse and skilled team.

This role is part of Northrop Grumman's Small Business Units, specifically Sonoma Photonics, Inc., and will be performed onsite in Santa Rosa, CA.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Develops, modifies, applies, and sustains quality assessment and control systems and protocols for transforming materials into semi-finished or finished products.

Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.

Formulates and implements techniques and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.

Designs and evaluates inspection and testing processes, mechanisms, and equipment; conducts quality assurance assessments; and performs statistical analyses to evaluate costs and determine accountability for products or materials that fail to meet required standards and specifications.

Conducts audits of quality systems to identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions. Ensures that corrective measures comply with reliability standards and that documentation meets requirements.

May focus on areas such as design, incoming materials, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory management, and/or research and development as they pertain to product or process quality.

Work will be conducted in both an office and lab/manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and potential exposure to chemicals.
This requisition may be filled at either an Associate Quality Engineer or Engineer Quality

Basic Qualifications:

Associate Quality Engineer:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science (MS) in a relevant STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience

Engineer Quality:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 2 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master of Science (MS) in a relevant STEM discipline and 0 years of related engineering experience
Experience with statistical methods and analysis
Ability to clearly present and communicate ideas, concepts, and plans
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Excellent organizational skills
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (PAR)

Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with thin film optical materials and thin film characterization techniques
Active DoD Security clearance
Ability to model complex systems

Salary Range:
$65,600 - $98,400

Salary Range 2:
$79,300 - $118,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
