Leeway Sailing Instructor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sailing Instructor and Lifeguard to join our team at the City of Long Beach, CA. As a Sailing Instructor and Lifeguard, you will be responsible for teaching sailing and aquatic skills to children and adults, while ensuring the safety and well-being of all participants.
Responsibilities- Design, plan, and implement sailing and aquatic programs for children and adults
- Teach sailing and aquatic skills, including safety procedures and emergency response techniques
- Supervise and monitor participants during sailing and aquatic activities
- Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of all participants
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for all participants
- Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff
- Participate in staff meetings and training sessions
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must have access to reliable transportation
- Must have experience in sailing, aquatics, or a related field
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Must be able to lift and move equipment and supplies
- Experience working with children and adults with varying skill levels
- Experience teaching sailing and aquatic skills
- Experience in lifeguarding and first aid
- Knowledge of sailing and aquatic safety procedures
