YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Learning to interpret maps, records, and other resources to accurately identify underground utility lines.
  • Utilizing Subsurface Utility Engineering equipment, including ground penetrating radar and electromagnetic designating tools, while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Maintaining precise records of utility locations and updates.
  • Conducting inspections and assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Assisting in the upkeep of vehicles, equipment, and work sites.
  • Following all company policies and procedures.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred; specialized training from a vocational school or experience as a Rod person/Instrument person is advantageous.
  • Entry-level experience (0 to 3 years) as a utility locator or SUE Technician is preferred.
  • Familiarity with underground utility systems and the ability to read maps and records is beneficial.
  • Experience with utility locating equipment, such as electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar, is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors for extended periods across various terrains and conditions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally and work extended hours during peak periods.
  • Capability to lift 50 pounds and operate necessary equipment.
  • Current Commercial Driver's License is a plus.
  • Background checks and pre-employment drug screening are required.
