Job Summary

Under the general direction of the Director - Behavioral Health Services, the successful candidate will maintain 24-hour responsibility and accountability for leadership and supervision of a designated care unit, promoting quality care and cost-effectiveness in resource utilization. This role involves participating in direct patient care and demonstrating a commitment to professional accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a designated care unit to ensure quality care and cost-effectiveness.
  • Participate in direct patient care and contribute to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of Ephraim McDowell Health.
  • Demonstrate dependability in job performance and exhibit the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a well-lit, ventilated, and air-conditioned area, requiring long periods of stationary position and movement around the unit. There are risks associated with exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue, diseases, infections, and physical strains. The ability to move or position 25 pounds independently is required.

Requirements
  • Education: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensure in the state of Kentucky.
  • Experience: A minimum of four years of clinical expertise is preferred.
  • Licenses, Certifications, and/or Registrations: Current licensure and certification as APRN in the Commonwealth of Kentucky with maintenance of DEA and CAPA-NS or CAPA-CS as regulated by the Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) based on APRN's scope of practice.
