We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team at VCU Medical Center's Acute Care Medicine Unit. As a Clinical Nurse, you will provide direct patient care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account patient needs, preferences, and goals.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, including communicating with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Provide education and support to patients and families, promoting health literacy and self-management skills.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based practices.
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible for compact state licensure.
- 1-3 years of experience in acute care nursing, with a focus on medicine or critical care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a high level of productivity.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, with the ability to obtain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months.
- Experience working in a teaching hospital or academic medical center.
- Certification in a specialty area, such as critical care or pediatrics.
- Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
