Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health issues.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work part-time, providing care and support to patients in a 48-bed facility. This is a great opportunity for individuals who are passionate about working with children and adolescents and want to make a difference in their lives.

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise patients in groups and one-on-one, as directed by nursing and clinical staff
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times
  • Plan and participate in group and individual activities with patients
  • Support patients who are upset or aggressive using approved positive therapeutic techniques
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as eating and bathing
  • Document changes in patient behavior, vital signs, sleep patterns, food intake, and hygiene
Requirements:
  • Ability to distinguish between safe and unsafe patient behavior
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language
  • Ability to observe, report, and document changes in patients' mental, physical, and behavioral status
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to maintain all required orientation and annual competencies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CNA license
  • Experience in a mental health setting, healthcare, or related field
  • Coursework or degree in a human service field
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents
  • Bilingual
  • Veteran status
