Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant

We are seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to join our team at the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents (CCCA). As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with behavioral and mental health issues.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will work part-time on 1st and 2nd shifts, with one weekend per month and holidays required. No experience is necessary, as all training will be provided by experienced staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise patients in groups and one-on-one, as directed by nursing and clinical staff
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of patients at all times, including those who are aggressive or self-injurious
  • Plan and participate in group and individual activities with patients
  • Support patients who are upset or aggressive using approved positive therapeutic techniques
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as eating, bathing, etc.
  • Document changes in patients' behavior, vital signs, sleep patterns, food intake, hygiene, etc.
Requirements:
  • Ability to distinguish between safe and unsafe patient behavior
  • Ability to read, write, and speak in the English language
  • Ability to observe, report, and document changes in patients' mental, physical, and behavioral status
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to maintain all required orientation and annual competencies
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and patients from varied backgrounds
  • Ability to recognize the need for help or assistance in providing care and treatment
  • Ability to give and receive effective feedback and perform as a member of a team
  • Ability to administer CPR and perform TO-approved physical interventions
  • Ability to use email and electronic health records
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CNA license
  • Experience in a mental health setting, healthcare, or related field
  • Coursework or degree in a human service field
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents
  • Bilingual
  • Veteran status
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $20.74/PCT, $21.74/CNA (plus shift differentials), and a supportive work environment. If you are passionate about providing high-quality care to children and adolescents, we encourage you to apply.

Please note that this position is eligible for shift differentials, including $3.00/hr for 1st shift weekends and $2.50/hr and $3.00/hr for 2nd shift weekdays and weekends/holidays, respectively.
