About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic Accounting team at BBSI. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining and updating customer files, preparing and posting customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable, and drafting correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections.

Key Responsibilities
  • Accounts Receivable Management: Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.
  • Customer File Maintenance: Maintain and update customer files, including name or address changes.
  • Correspondence and Collections: Draft correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identify delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contact delinquent accountholders and request for payment.
  • Statement and Invoice Management: Send weekly/monthly statements to customers and send invoices to customers upon request.
  • Discrepancy Research: Research customer statement discrepancies and past-due amounts.
  • Aging Report Reconciliation: Reconcile Aging Report with the AR General Ledger.
  • Revenue Account Reconciliation: Assist Sr Accountant, Jr Accountant, or Accounting Manager in reconciling revenue accounts each month.
  • External Audit Support: Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related duties as assigned, including back-up for AP and Purchasing.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years experience in AR, AP and GL Reconciliation.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred but not required.
  • Skills: Ability to prioritize and manage expectations, work independently, communicate articulately and efficiently with other people within the department/company, provide excellent customer service, and understand and adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient with any Accounting Software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Work Environment: Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
