RDBMS Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled RDBMS Administrator to join our team at Stockell Consulting in Buffalo NY and/or Wilmington DE. The estimated salary for this position is $160,000 - $220,000 per year.

This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability. You will partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have experience-based knowledge in either Oracle and/or MS SQL Database Administration and infrastructure automation tooling. Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaborately with internal tech teams are essential.

Main Responsibilities:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvement across the organization.
• Design, implement, and maintain database systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Develop and implement automation solutions for database deployment, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with internal tech teams to mature the bank's database ecosystem.
• Participate in the bank's DB COE as an Oracle DB and provide subject matter expertise to the bank's database community.
• Perform regular database performance tuning and optimization to meet business requirements and SLAs.
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and implement solutions in a timely manner.
• Establish and enforce database policies and procedures.
• Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on best practices for database administration and automation.

The successful candidate will have an AS/BS degree and 6 or more years' RDBMS experience. Alternatively, 8 or more years' RDBMS experience can be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience with MS SQL and/or Oracle relational database systems is also required.

A strong background in hands-on database automation tools and scripting, such as Python and PowerShell, is essential. Agile methodology experience, particularly Scaled Agile (SAFe), is preferred but not required. Experience with cloud database platforms is also beneficial.
