Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized service to patients, ensuring their medication needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Recruit patients into OU Health's specialty pharmacy program, promoting the benefits of this service.
  • Facilitate prior authorization, copay assistance, and grant funding to support medication affordability.
  • Work closely with pharmacy, doctor's office, and patient teams to expedite drug access and resolve clinical issues.
  • Offer medication adherence support and provide education on medication management.
  • Escalate complex clinical issues to clinical or specialty pharmacists as needed.
  • Build strong relationships with patients through friendly and efficient customer service.
  • Work independently, managing time effectively to complete tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Apply cultural sensitivity and understanding when interacting with diverse patient populations.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; current Oklahoma licensed technician permit preferred; national certification preferred; four years of pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Active permit as a Pharmacy Technician by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy or ability to achieve permit within 90 days of employment.
  • BLS certification and Immunization Administration Certificate preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic computer and math skills.
  • Detail-oriented for accuracy of data and information.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency preferred.
  • Customer Service oriented.
  • EMR documentation experience preferred.
