Job Description

Cayuga Health System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Director of Behavioral Services. This leadership position is responsible for overseeing the clinical and administrative operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit.

The Director will ensure high-quality patient care, adherence to safety protocols, and regulatory compliance. They will collaborate with medical staff, nurses, social workers, therapists, and other personnel to provide effective treatment programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall direction, supervision, and evaluation of treatment services in the inpatient behavioral health unit.
  • Prepare and manage the budget, identifying opportunities for financial savings without compromising patient care and revenue enhancement.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring staff and providers are educated on department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure efficient staffing and provide administrative and clinical supervision for all staff assigned, evaluating staff performance to monitor achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes, developing strategies for continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, and implementing performance improvement initiatives based on data-driven analysis of outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience in an acute mental health setting required.
  • RN License in the State of New York.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in psychiatry or applicable field preferred.
  • Master's degree preferred (MSN, MBA, MHA, or leadership-focused).

  • Onsite.

Pay Range Disclosure:

  • $130,000 to $174,000 per year.
