Role Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Computational Biology Scientist to contribute significantly to data-centric initiatives in collaboration with our Immunology Discovery Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage in research focused on chronic inflammatory diseases.
- Collaborate closely with computational biologists from Genentech Computational Sciences and experimental scientists in Immunology Discovery.
- Design and analyze experiments utilizing (multi-)omics profiling in pre-clinical models and human samples to elucidate, disrupt, and reverse pathobiology.
- Contribute to the development of novel therapeutic strategies and biomarker identification.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in Computational Biology, Immunology, Genomics, Genetics, or a related discipline. A strong understanding of statistical analysis and biological interpretation of omics data is essential. Critical thinking regarding experimental design and a healthy skepticism are vital traits.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in Python and/or R for statistical analysis, data transformation, and visualization is required. The ability to communicate scientific concepts and collaboratively interpret data with teams from diverse scientific backgrounds is crucial.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with single-cell assays (e.g., single-cell ATAC/RNA-seq, single-cell perturbation screens).
- Background in immunology with a strong desire to expand knowledge in the field.
