Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled Senior Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in audio-visual installation and integration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide training, mentorship, and support to field technicians and junior staff to ensure successful installation and commissioning of AV home integration systems.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert, leading installations for AV control systems, which include:
    • Conducting wire ring out.
    • Managing wire organization, trimming, labeling standards, and terminations such as RG6, Fiber, Cat6, Cat6A RJ-45 Compression, and Soldering.
    • Installing lighting keypads and touch panels.
    • Programming URC remotes.
    • Setting up TV brackets and other mechanical display supports.
    • Physically installing control system components, including racks, TVs, speakers, video walls, projectors, and other equipment.
  • Document project status, procedures, and updates using project management software. Provide daily updates to the project team.
  • Review daily punch lists at the project site, ensuring compliance with project timelines and expectations.
  • Collaborate with lead technicians to set up and test AV signal flows, equipment functionality, and programming.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers and stakeholders regarding any necessary changes due to construction constraints or other issues.
  • Engage professionally with external stakeholders, including general contractors, architects, and clients, and relay any requests to the project manager.
  • Conduct diagnostics, troubleshooting, and testing of systems during installation phases, documenting and resolving issues as necessary.
  • Load programming and train clients on system usage upon project completion.
  • Participate in an on-call weekend rotation as required.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Audio & Video distribution concepts and equipment (HDMI, Dante audio).
    • IR, RS-232, and Network control protocols and communication.
    • Networking standards, including VPN connections and port forwarding concepts.
    • Control systems such as Savant, Crestron, and Control4.
    • Lutron lighting and shading systems.
  • Understanding of HVAC and thermostat functionalities.
  • Ability to interact comfortably with VIP clientele in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with product lines including Crestron, Savant, Sonos, Lutron, Snapav, Access Networks, Sonance, Bluebolt, Future Automation, and Seura.
  • Working knowledge of Crestron Toolbox, Savant, Dyn, DNS, etc.
  • Physical capability to lift, move, and push up to 50 lbs.
  • OSHA 40 and applicable SST certification required (or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment).
  • Valid driver's license preferred.
