Job Title: Database Systems Administrator

Job Summary:

At Orbis Corporation, we are seeking a highly skilled Database Systems Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering numbers Oracle databases and supporting systems administrators, developers, and end users with enhancements and issues. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, including experience with designing, normalizing, developing, installing, and implementing databases. Additionally, the candidate should have experience maintaining, monitoring, performance tuning, backing up, and recovering databases in a Linux or Unix environment. The Database Systems Administrator will also be responsible for conducting periodic Information Assurance accreditation reviews and implementing the applicable Security Technical Implementation Guide or Security Readiness Guide to databases, database servers, and applications to meet security requirements. The successful candidate will have a valid certification as an Oracle Database Administrator (OCA or OCP) and a valid certification of an IAT-2 technical level with Security, or Global Information Assurance Certification's (GIAC) Security Essentials (GSEC), or (ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer numbers Oracle databases and support systems administrators, developers, and end users with enhancements and issues.
  • Design, normalize, develop, install, and implement databases, including schemas, tables, indexes, data import, and export.
  • Maintain, monitor, performance tune, back up, and recover databases in a Linux or Unix environment.
  • Conduct periodic Information Assurance accreditation reviews and implement the applicable Security Technical Implementation Guide or Security Readiness Guide to databases, database servers, and applications to meet security requirements.
  • Develop Procedural Language SQL (PL/SQL) packages, procedures, functions, and triggers.
  • Use Standard Query Language (SQL) to create, store, retrieve, and update data in relational databases.
  • Collaborate with system administrators, customers, and Director-level management to communicate performance factors, author management plans, and implement software lifecycle management.

Requirements:

  • Valid certification as an Oracle Database Administrator (OCA or OCP).
  • Valid certification of an IAT-2 technical level with Security, or Global Information Assurance Certification's (GIAC) Security Essentials (GSEC), or (ISC)2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP).
  • Recent work experience with a production Oracle database, 8 years of experience.
  • Strong analytical thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing situations.
  • Top Secret Security Clearance.
  • US citizen.
