Carrie Rikon & Associates, LLC is seeking a skilled professional responsible for the strategic procurement and efficient delivery of products within the wine and spirits sector. This role collaborates closely with the Senior Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers to meet the organization's objectives. The position entails managing supply chain and inventory for promotional categories while ensuring financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure products to align with anticipated demand.
  • Negotiate optimal pricing, quality, and service levels consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Aim to achieve inventory turnover goals while maintaining service levels and minimizing excess.

Engage with various departments and personnel to fulfill job responsibilities effectively. Foster and maintain strong relationships with vendors, store operations, and distribution teams.

  • Analyze acquisition costs to ensure competitive pricing while considering quality and reliability.
  • Evaluate current inventory and market conditions to forecast order quantities and provide insights to the merchandising team.
  • Conduct reviews and analyses post-promotions to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Address inventory discrepancies at the store level due to allocation or ordering issues.
  • Monitor daily and weekly reports to track costs, quality, service levels, and inventory metrics, making adjustments as necessary.
  • Conduct store visits to evaluate program effectiveness and gather feedback.
  • Oversee Accounts Payable processes for distribution-sourced items to confirm accurate invoicing.
  • Resolve billing inquiries by investigating discrepancies and coordinating with store billing.
  • Maintain comprehensive department records and files.
  • Collaborate with Warehouse Operations to ensure timely product flow.
  • Utilize remote access for procurement systems as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing or Vendor Management.
  • Preferred experience in Marketing/Logistics or a strong understanding of store operations and merchandising.
  • Knowledge of beverage procurement, logistics, inventory management, and financial practices.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Effective planning and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective business relationships.
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Able to maintain focus and productivity amidst frequent interruptions.
