Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Candy Procurement Specialist to join our team at Carrie Rikon & Associates, LLC. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of purchasing or vendor management experience in the industry or retail, with a strong understanding of grocery procurement, logistics, inventory management, marketing, accounting, and financial management practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for procuring product in accordance with all policies and procedures established by the company, working closely with the Sr. Director of Purchasing and Senior Buyers to achieve the goals of the company. They will also be responsible for providing supply chain/inventory management for promotionally active categories and corresponding financial accountabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order products to meet forecasted demand.
  • Obtain best possible product costs, quality, and service at all times.
  • Ensure that established policies and procedures are understood and adhered to.
  • Strive to obtain inventory and turn goals, while maintaining service level and minimizing distress.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to take initiative and make fact-based decisions. They will also have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective business relationships both internally and externally.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 plus years of Purchasing or Vendor Management experience in industry or retail: grocery, candy, beverage experience a plus.
  • Marketing/Logistics experience preferred or strong understanding of store operations and merchandising methodologies and practices.
  • Understanding of grocery procurement, logistics, inventory management, marketing, accounting, and financial management practices.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills; ability to take initiative and make fact-based decisions.
  • Ability to plan and organize effectively.
  • Written and verbal communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective business relationships both internally and externally.
  • Strong computer aptitude in MS Office including Word and Excel.
  • Ability to concentrate and deal with frequent interruptions.
