About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Technician to join our team at Sandstone Care. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the well-being of our clients and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor clients constantly and work with nurses and other staff to ensure their safety.
  • Assist with mealtime setup, light laundry, room cleaning, and grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Conduct admission and discharge processes for new and existing clients, including paperwork, drug and alcohol tests, skin checks, and inventory searches.
  • Perform regular safety checks on clients every 15 or 30 minutes, depending on their risk level.
Requirements
  • Candidates must have 2 years of college education OR a high school diploma with 1 year of experience in the human services field.
  • Candidates must be First Aid / CPR Certified prior to first day of employment.
  • Previous experience with treatment of substance abuse and/or co-occurring disorders - strongly preferred.
  • Training in verbal de-escalation and/or mental health - strongly preferred.
  • A valid driver's license with no restrictions - Must be willing to transport clients in a 15-passenger van.
