Occupational Therapy Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Bon Secours Mercy Health. As an integral member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing patient care and rehabilitation services.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide patient treatment, document progress, and implement established treatment programs. Your expertise will enable you to instruct, motivate, and assist patients and their families in continued occupational therapy programs, as well as care for and use adaptive equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in planning and implementing educational, vocational, and recreational programs established by the Occupational Therapist.
- Instruct and motivate patients and their families in appropriate continued occupational therapy programs, as well as care for and use adaptive equipment.
- Observe and report patients' responses to treatment and progress, reporting orally and/or in writing to the Occupational Therapist.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapist and other health team members to exchange and discuss patient information for planning, modifying, and coordinating treatment programs.
- Assist in assessing client's daily living skills and capabilities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, preferably in a hospital setting.
- A strong understanding of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
