Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Alternatives Advisory Practice as a Vice President, Alternatives Advisory Practice. This role will be responsible for analyzing and sourcing investment opportunities across the alternatives space, including private investments and hedge funds.
Key Responsibilities- Investment Analysis: Conduct thorough analysis of potential private fund investment opportunities, including evaluating track records, strategies, and teams, and making recommendations on whether clients should invest.
- Relationship Building: Identify and cultivate relationships with fund managers in the U.S. and Europe to position Northern Trust for investment opportunities.
- Research and Due Diligence: Conduct general research across private markets, identifying trends and developing investment theses.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor existing fund portfolios and develop insights into fund performance.
- Client Servicing: Collaborate with clients to implement investment strategies and provide ongoing portfolio monitoring and reporting.
- Special Projects: Assist with special projects as needed, such as writing industry white papers and compiling ad hoc reports.
- Strong Analytical Skills: Possess strong analytical and judgment skills with the ability to assess both quantitative and qualitative aspects of an investment.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to represent the group before investors, fund managers, and other stakeholders.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collegial, team-oriented environment.
- Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the private investments industry, including deal structures and various participants in the private credit ecosystem.
- Education: Undergraduate degree required, MBA highly preferred.
- Experience: 5-10 years of work experience, preferably in private equity, private credit/lending, investment banking, consulting, or other alternatives asset management.
