We are seeking highly skilled and motivated Supervising Attorneys with extensive immigration experience to staff application centers for asylum seekers.

Job Summary:

The role of the Supervising Attorney is to provide support and training to application assistants and asylum seekers as they fill out applications. The Supervising Attorney will foster and encourage a positive, productive environment and will bring a 'can-do' attitude to the wide variety of questions that arise.

Responsibilities:
  • Train and support application assistants as they support asylum seekers in submitting asylum applications.
  • Advise application assistants and asylum seekers regarding the requirements for submitting an asylum claim.
  • Ensure application assistants comply with NYC program guidance and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:
  • Admitted to practice in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction.
  • Clear of any attorney disciplinary charges sustained in the past 10 years in any jurisdiction in which they were licensed.
  • At least 2 years of full-time experience practicing immigration law, including asylum and other humanitarian immigration benefits.
  • Willingness to work in person and on site at the NYC Navigation Center for the duration of the project.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.
  • Candidates must have an EOIR number.
