About the Role

The Food Safety and Quality Manager will collaborate with Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Production personnel to ensure timely execution of our operations while maintaining uncompromised food safety compliance.

The successful candidate will oversee the implementation and maintenance of the BRC standard, SSOP (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), HACCP (Hazardous Analysis Critical Control Points), FDA (Food & Drug Administration), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), all safety policies and procedures, and any other established policies and requirements necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Educate team members on fundamentals of Food Science.
  • Lead teams to develop, manufacture, and launch new innovation projects.
  • SUPPORT CURRENT AND HELP DEVELOP FOOD SAFETY, QUALITY, AND SANITATION PROGRAMS AND ENSURE COMPLIANCE FOR A GLUTEN-FREE PRODUCTION FACILITY.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, quality products in a sustainable manner, minimizing risk to the manufacturing facility and organization.
  • Review and anticipate potential and emerging food safety, quality, and regulatory issues, developing strategies to effectively investigate and respond.
  • FACILITATE THE INVESTIGATION AND RESOLUTION OF ESCALATED PLANT ISSUES INCLUDING QUALITY HOLDS, PRIORITY CONSUMER COMPLAINTS, AND FDA/USDA REGULATORY MATTERS.
  • Provide risk management strategies in support of manufacturing facility innovation, commercialization, and productivity projects.
  • Ensure food safety and quality individual and departmental capabilities, including hiring and on-boarding, trainings, and other growth and development opportunities.
  • Effectively manage pest control programs.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Prepare and ensure adherence to the QA department annual operating budget.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in food science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of people and functional leadership responsibilities in Quality Assurance, Regulatory, Technical Services, R&D, and/or other food-related experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Experience in HACCP, BRC, organic, kosher, FSMA Food Safety Plan.
  • Strong sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Annual Salary: $110,000 - $140,000
