Bari Ziperstein Studio / BZIPPY is seeking a skilled Clay Fabrication Associate to join our team in Sun Valley, CA.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled individual to assist with the fabrication of high-quality, large and small-scale slab-constructed ceramics, including furniture, planters, vases, and sculpture.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and assemble production ceramics using slab-building methods.
  • Follow precise renderings and production instructions.
  • Fabricate ceramic sculptural works with precise measurements while accounting for shrinkage rate, etc.
  • Work in a collaborative fabrication team setting.
  • Assist with custom projects and commissions of large wares and sculptures.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience with hand-building tools such as various ribs, knives, joining, etc.
  • Previous professional studio experience.
  • Ability to receive, understand, and apply information in a timely manner.
  • Clear and concise communication skills.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods, lift and carry up to 30 pounds, and perform a wide range of physical tasks.
