Accounts Payable Specialist

At Southern Indiana Tire, we are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of accounts payable transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies
  • Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports and recording entries
  • Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal ID numbers, and scheduling and preparing checks
  • Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
  • Maintain historical records by filing documents
  • Continuing to improve the payment process
  • Post invoices from vendors
  • Match invoices to statements
  • Maintain checkbook in Excel
  • Maintain required records such as W-9's
  • Scan invoices into our Document Management System
Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
  • 2-3 years of accounts payable experience required
  • Knowledge of general accounting procedures
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel
  • Able to multi-task and prioritize work effectively

Work Environment:

Frequent squatting, bending, and twisting. Repetitive motion. Standing for extended periods of time. Vision (near, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception). Sense of sound (alarms, horns, and motorized equipment).
